"...I'm so excited...I just can't hide it..."

HURRAY....tomorrow is going to be the best day ever!!!!! I am FINALLY getting a new car, and a nice one at that. Well, actually tomorrow morning we are bringing my dad to the airport to go get it for us. We are buying it from my uncle who lives in Connecticut. My Dad will be driving it home for us on Monday. P.S. its a black 2002 Buick Rendezvous. This is a picture of what it will look like. Oh man, I am just so giddy :)

Whose next?

Alright people, I just reeled Shelly and Courtney into this fabulous thing called blogging...who wants to be next? I emailed more people than just these two. Trust me, once you get started you will totally love it....I do. I pretty sure this has become an addiction of mine though :) Problem being that I am reading random blogs of people I dont know...it would be way more fun to read about my family and friends!

So Stinken Cold

Lake Michigan in January
On Sunday we braved the cold weather yet again, this time with Erin and Joel, to head out to see the lake. It was extremely cold. My body was a giant icicle by the end of the trip. What a sight though...we go every year at this time and normally you can see the edge of the ice... not this year...the ice went out as far as we could see. Guess that makes sense with all the bitter cold weather we've been having.

The Scholma's Went Sledding

Friday after school we met Jon's family at the pigeon creek sledding hill. It was SO much fun... I have never been one for winter "sports" but we had a great time. All the siblings and nieces and nephews were there for the fun. (minus Grant...he is kinda little :)) There are a bazillion pictures but here are a few...

The Girls (Court, Me, Shel, & Heather)

The Guys (Jon, Marc, Eric, & Kirk)

I know....You are jealous of my moves!

It made me laugh....

I found this youtube video while surfing the web for hours tonight. I thought is was hilarious....I dont know, maybe it just struck MY funny bone but you'll have to check it out.

"Ash...I "willy" need a blackberry..."

I thought this was the funniest thing and had to share it with you...Tuesday night I was watching the Lindhout boys... I was putting Lukas to bed and he wanted me to lay with him and rub his back. Of course I did...We were laying there and he just kept talking and would not go to sleep. The things he was saying was hilarious, yet he was so serious. I was texting Court to tell her everything b/c I needed someone to laugh with...Lukas asked me what I was doing and I told him I was emailing Court. (I had no idea he knew what texting was) He looked at me with a dumbfound look and said..."Ash, thats not emailing, I "alweady" (remind you he can't say his r's) know thats called texting" I couldnt help it and laughed out loud. Then he said "Duh, texting is when you "white" "woords" to people on your phone..." Well, I was pretty shocked he knew that. Then he continues to say..."Man, I "willy" need a blackberry", again I cracked up and asked why? He told me b/c he is "so good at texting." Oh...I tell ya, this kid is hilarious. I could tell you so much more but this was my favorite part :)

Lukas...

Well, I seem to be alittle behind on this blogging thing. Life has been crazy busy. We have had a lot of not so good things happen to our family lately and they aren't the kind of things you want to post about. However, amidst this storm of sadness, last weekend Lukas spent the night at our house. Best thing ever. We had so much fun hanging out with just him. (I did miss Noah and Tyce though). When Lukas got out of school we went shopping at target (his pick) (with his 20 "bucks", another funny story that would take forever to type). After that we went to Chuck-E-Cheese. We had a great time. Once we got home, Lukie and I played the wii til 10:30...he thought he was big stuff staying up that late :) I was definitely not ready to give him back the next day. Here are a couple pictures from the night. (My computer is once again being junky and I can only get two to load. I will definitely try harder b/c the ones of him playing wii fit are hilarious) He won this shirt with all "his" tickets
Cutest thing ever...We were getting our picture taken and he did this thumbs up all on his own. I thought is was so dang cute :)

Kari Time!!!

On Saturday Kari came down to GR for another visit. We headed dowtown to a Griffins game...just the two of us...a little date I guess :) Griffins games are something I take for granted since we have free seasons tickets, however I love going with Kari because she has only been three times and it makes the experience so much more fun. We enjoyed breadsticks, cotton candy, other yummy candies...etc. Now I am trying to plan a trip up to TC by her. And when I do, our first stop is going to be to buy COLORED POPCORN....my favorite thing about Traverse City :)
Our noisebleed seats...Personally I like it better...Its quieter so you can chit-chat, you can see the whole rink, and you can people watch and see alot more :)
Me and Kari at the game

We LOVE our huge bags of Free Cotton Candy :)

It's the weekend...Hurray!!!

Well, the title says it all today. Am I ever glad its the weekend. I feel like I am extra worn out this week. Guess its hard to get into the swing of things after being off for two weeks. This weekend should be fun though...Kari's coming into town and we are going to a Griffins game on Saturday, then Sunday we are celebrating the Scholma Chirstmas now that everyone is healthy and feeling better. Now it's time to cuddle up on the couch and pop in a good movie!

AFRICA...Are you kidding me?

So I have never been so jealous in my life :) Jon found out yesterday that he is going to Africa in February. I couldn't even believe it. Africa is on my list of places to go before I die. He said I would have been able to go with him if I didn't have a job but there is no way I would be able to take off two weeks of work. He leaves on his birthday (Feb. 12) and comes home, I believe, on the 24th. I have to say, that is probably his best b-day gift ever. And the best part...Its FREE!!!! He will spend two days traveling there, and two days traveling home. Then while down there they will be at the school which their school partners with. He is not exactly sure what they will be doing...but who cares. Best part of the trip and the reason I am so jealous....they are going on an AFRICAN SAFARI. grrrrrr..... I talk about going on a safari everyday and how bad I want to go on one and I just get laughed at. This is so not fair... There will be a bazillion more updates about this because it is so dang cool :)

The Time.....

It really drives me nuts how to time on my blog is three hours too early. Kari....do you know how to change it? :)

Science Girls

I realized that I am really bad at putting pictures on my computer. They just sit on my camera forever. I needed to email Kari the picture of the Science girls dinner so I thought I would post it on here. During break all the science girls from Grand Valley ventured to GR for some delicious dinner at the Grand Rapids Brewing Co. We had so much fun. We dont see each other very often anymore so when we do it is always a night filled with laughs.

Again?

It it once again, way late, 1:10 AM to be exact, and I am still up blogging. I have become way to addicted to this. I actually spent my night emailing people who I thought might be interested in reading this so it will seem to have more of a purpose. (Kari, not like your not good enough :)) I also am trying to convince a few to start blogging so I have more to read! Well, I only have one more day of freedom, then back into the real world. I have enjoyed these last two weeks way too much. However, I did not get very much accomplished on my list of to-dos. Oh well, it will still be there next week.

On another note, I have had a crazy couple of last days. Very last minute on New Years Day we decided to go up to the Haarsmas cottage with Matt and Lori along with Lori's parents. We had a blast. Friday we spent the day out on the frozen lake, ice skating and playing hockey. (Pics to come soon :)) Then, Friday night we spent 5 1/2 hours playing the game of CLUE. Yep, the good ole' fashion game of clue. Never thought we could have so much fun!

On one last note for tonight, keep my mom in your prayers are she is battling severe pain in her gull bladder from stones which she is having removed on Thursday. I know no other details, sorry.

It's 3:09 AM

HAPPY 2009 EVERYBODY!!!! a.k.a Kari... since she is the only one that reads this blog :) Ha! and maybe Kristi since she reads random blogs of people she doesnt even know..hahaha (that cracked me up b/c I do the same thing :)) So....It is 3:09am and I have not seen this time of night in I dont even know how long! I am so wide awake from tonight I dont even know what to do, so I decide to blog...sweet. Maybe I should just try closing my eyes.... Anyways, tonight was fun...different, but fun. We had the New Year's party at our house this year and for the most part it went pretty well. People came and went all throughout the night. We had WAY too much food and now I have no idea where to put it all. For some reason the hostess is apparently left with all the leftovers...just what we need. I hope everyone elses night went well and everyone stayed safe. Can't wait to see what the 2009 year brings!!!
