I LOVE PHOTOSHOP!!

Thanks to Katie for the lesson on photoshop today, I now feel like an expert. Here is the first picture I photoshopped without her here to help me. It's just like they always say..."Just photoshop them in..." :) Here is a picture of me in Africa....or am I???

Photoshop 101

Alright...I need some serious lessons in how to use photoshop. I purchased photoshop for myself for Valentines Day while my hubby was away (with his approval of course). I have wasted more time ruining pictures than I have blogging. This is the most confusing thing I have ever owned...If anyone knows a thing or two about this fabulous, yet most complicated program, please let me know...ASAP!

P.S. These background choices are becoming slim...I'm not liking any of them...

JON IS HOME!!!!

Jon finally made it home from Africa around 8:00 last night. He has so many stories to tell. He loved every minute of his trip and had an awesome experience. I can't wait to go with him next time he goes :) P.S. I am so not kidding!!! Looking at his pictures for the first time I almost cried because I wanted to be there so bad...Wait until you see some of the animals he saw and those little kids...they are absolutely precious. He took over 1000 pictures so here are a few to give you a little peak. Thanks for all your prayers while he was gone. And for those of you that read this, I owe my friends and family a HUGE thank you for keeping me company while my hubby was away. I seriously have the best friends and family anyone can ask for. I loved hanging out with everybody...seriously people, I dont know how I would have made it without you :)

These are only a few of the animals he saw on their safari. Some others animals they saw were elephants, hippos, hyenas, flamingos, lots of different birds and monkies. He was bumbed because they did not see a lion or a cheetah. Below is a white rhino, zebra, girafee and his favorite picture from the trip of three monkies watching the sunrise one morning.

They took a trip to the equator...the half way point in the world. I'm jealous, thats what I am teaching the forth graders right now. Can't wait to bring this in and show them that he was on the equator, northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere all in one day :)

This is the tent where he stayed while at the school...looks comfy doesn't it. Even after seeing this I can't wait to go...it's so worth it.

Here are some of this kids....I want to take them all home...aren't they precious?

Jon with a forth grade class at the Reverend Murupus Acadamy (Christian School in Kenya)

On their way home they had a 6 1/2 layover in London so they got a taxi and toured the town. Below is the Big Ben clock tower, and they also saw the westminster, churches, Buckingham Palace, and some other things that I can't remember :)

Overall he said it was a great trip and he would do it again. The food is a little nasty but he said he began liking it...I really don't think he had a choice :) Again, thanks for all the prayers!

I heard from him again...

Jon called again this afternoon. Not too much new news. He said that he doesnt know if I would be able to make it there. The food sucks (Roasted Goat was served today) and there are animals and bugs all over. Eww... He said there are a couple monkeys living outside where they are staying. Little pets I guess :) He went to a church service there and it was around 3 1/2 hours long. Crazy!!! I am missing him sooooooo much. I think these phone calls are making it worse. I hear his voice and just want to give him a big hug! People, I guess you are going to have to keep me even busier than this. I can't keep thinking about it, I get really sad :( Next time I am going to have to go with him or this might not work. Please keep the prayers coming for both of us. Pray that he stays healthy and at least tries to eat the food, (I warned him to bring food and he didnt), Pray that he can bring a message to those little kids about our Lord. Pray for strength while he is there, I know he misses home. Pray now for safe travel when he returns home. Lastly, Pray that I have strength to make it this last week without him. Thank you...we both need it!

HE MADE IT!!!

I finally received the phone call that Jon made it safe to Africa. He said it is smokin hot down there but he is having a lot of fun. He went on a safari and saw tons of animals but has not seen a lion or a cheetah. They went to the equator and took picutes...not sure of what though since that is an imaginary line :) Anyways... thats all I know for now...I will keep everyone updated. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!

...and he's off...

Jon has left GR and is on his way to Africa. He doesn't arrive until around 1:30pm our time. I wil keep you updated every time I hear from him. Keep him in your prayers, for safe travel and an awesome experience down there, and for me, that I can make it without him. I am really missing him a lot already and I haven't even spent a night alone yet :(

Less than 48 hours

The day is getting closer when Jonny will be continents away. When this idea first came up for Jon to go to Africa, it seemed so awesome and I was like heck ya, go, this is great. Well, now that it is less than 48 hours until he will be on his way really far away from me, I am having second thoughts. I figured, whatever he hunts and I am just fine, I can easily do this. It finally sunk into my head that he isnt just 2 hours north of me, he is half way around the sticken world. OH MY LANTA! Not sure how I am going to make it 2 weeks without him. Thankfully I have some awesome friends who are going to keep me company every night of the week. :) (Or at least close to EVERY night). Anyways, we need your prayers these next couple weeks for Jon while he is in Africa teaching those adorable little kids, and for me, that I can make through life here without him. :) I love him tons and will miss him ALOT!!!

P.S. Don't want you to think I like this blog background...It just reminds me of Africa :)
